Yep! I got back last night around 6:00. It's so good to be home! I've been gone since the 21st of May. So that means about two weeks and two days of in and out of the car. Trust me, it's not fun in the car when you have four little siblings.
On Friday night we stayed the night in Memphis after driving all night on Thursday.
Then we drove to Roanoke, Virgina. We stayed the night there in a very disgusting hotel. There were dead bugs everywhere. *shudders in fright* The next day, Sunday, we went to church in a ward my dad had served a mission in.
We went to Washington D.C. next. I managed to get several pictures of memorials and of some exhibits in the Smithsonian. Got to Newark, New Jersey, after staying in D.C for three days. Took a train to New York and got to see the Big Apple at night. Took the subway back to our train station in order to get back to New Jersey. The next day, we went to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
From there we drove to my mom's friend's house. We stayed the night there and the next morning we got to play a really cool game with her oldest boy, who I have to say is cute. We then went to Palmyra and got to see the Smith's farm. We also went into the Sacred Grove where we got tons of leaves. Then we went to Buffalo and stayed the night there.
That Sunday we went into Canada. There we saw Niagara Falls. Then we went to Holland, Michigan. That Monday morning, my baby brother broke his arm. While my mom and my baby brother was at the hospital, the rest of us went to the Dutch Village. They make the most amazing candles there!
On Tuesday, we drove to Chicago. There we went to their science museum and got to see the U-505, the only U-boat that the U.S managed to capture during WWII. My baby brother, because of his fall, refused to go near the see through railing on the top level outside the U-505. It was kind of funny.
From there, we went and stayed the night in Iowa. Then on Wednesday we went to Navoo and got to see a lot of sights. My dad took me and my sister, not my baby sister, to do baptisms for the dead in the Navoo Temple. We also got to see the spiral stair case of the Navoo temple. On Thursday, we went to Carthage Jail where Joseph Smith and his brother, Hyrum, were killed. There, we drove all night to get to our family reunion. We stayed there for at least lunch yesterday then we drove back home.
I still have to say, it's great to be back at home!
Since we are traveling, my parents packed the cots. They had gotten them rinsed down and were letting them air dry on the balcony of my mom's friend's house. My baby brother decided to see if he was a bird so he climbed up, and fell over from about the height of ten feet. He's wearing a sling now, but it's hard for him to get up since it's his right arm. It's kind of sad, and it's not helping with the vacation at all. Had a really bad day today, so yeah. I don't want to talk to my two younger sisters right now.
